Playtime

Bought a cheap cot mobile today (abit late for Aeon, but never mind, can save it for his brothers and sisters next time). He was so amused with it that he kept pulling, grabbing, kicking and laughing.

Aeon's first parcel

Aeon received a parcel for the very first time in his life. We were so thrilled and eager to open the parcel ! Sender is He He He... I spent a long time trying to figure out the sender because I do not recall if we have any friends residing in the stated address (already blurred out..). Upon opening the parcel, Roland figured out who is He He He... Thank you He He He, we loved your present alot. I already washed it and will let Aeon wear it asap :)

A fruitful day

Took a day off work to do some of our errands. Supposed to go out in the early morning but had to reschedule due to the heavy rain. Spent the first half of the day logging on clearing my work and by the time I was ready to go out, it was already in the afternoon and Aeon was so tired and fell alseep after we walked out.

Nevertheless, it's still a great and fun family day. We completed many things.

First we went for the Isetan private sale, then to TMC for Aeon's FOC eye checkup, then to United Square for a shopping spree & Aeon took his passport photo today.

We only bought a toy, a Nuk premium bottle set and a pair of socks for Aeon. I did not buy anything for myself yet because I want to save all the money to spoil myself when I finally shed all those post-pregnancy weight! I do not feel good about myself now because every part of me is Fats fats fats, covering all over my body. I should not be wasting my money to cover these unsightly flesh that doesn't belong to me. Well, got to be patient!

After the sale, we proceeded to MacDonalds for our lunch. We tried out the new Coke freeze $2.35 for a big cup. Aeon was eyeing at the Coke freeze throughout and he tried to grab the cup from us. He actually tried to drink from the straw (of course he doesn't know how to).

I sneaked Aeon onto the weighing machine while waiting for our turn to see the eye doctor. Aeon is now 8.73kg, putting on about 400 grams this month. The eye checkup was fun. The doctor dimmed the lights and used a touchlight to test his eye reflex and focus. Then she used a binocular-liked equipment (with greenish/yellow light in the middle) to attract Aeon's attention. She was actually videoing down Aeon's eyes and the equipment would capture his eyes' degrees, diameter, size etc., Aeon's both eyes are -0.5 (long sighted like an old man) with astigmatism, his left pupil is a bit smaller than his right. Of course, all these are normal for a baby @6 months except for the pupils'size part. I am quite surprised that babies do not have perfect vision and their eye muscles and vision will continue to develop and improve till 6~7 years old.

At the Toy'R'Us.... I always tried out the different baby stuff and taking photos of Aeon in it. Well, he still unable to sit up for long, can't walk, limited poses for photos. So I took fun in placing him in whatever baby stuff I could find (free!) for any photoshoots. I told myself not to miss out any moment of his life!

Most of the times I will assume for him that he loved it and wanted to buy those things for him. (impulse reaction)

We bought the 'Safety First' high chair for Aeon from United Square Toys'R'Us and found a really nice shop to take his passport-sized photo. Aeon does really like it, he was figeting and crying through out. Initially the photographer tried to photo him in a baby basket but Aeon did not like it so I decided to carry him and asked the photographer to edit the background.

My turn to try out the Combi sling

It was my turn to sling him using the new Combi carrier. Snapped and videod these on saturday afternoon (on our way to Hougang street 11). It was a really hot day!

Realised that Aeon was too short for the carrier as the carrier covered his whole mouth completely. He loved facing the front side.

HanTong's wedding on 9/23

We celebrated HanTong & Jeannie's wedding on Sunday. This is the first wedding I went for this year and the first wedding attended at Marriott. Everything was smooth and sweet. Jeannie is so sweet and slim. Of course, our groom is not the limelight. :P

Managed to catch this while I was trying to scatter the rose petals at the couple.

Duck prince

We called this the prince of rubber duckie. The rubber duckie is actually stucked onto his forehead. Roland tried to bully him by squeezing the air out of the duckie to create a suction and sticked onto him. To his surprise, Aeon was actually very happy with this suction sensation!

A saturday morning

A saturday morning after a heavy meal is a happy day for Aeon. He loves to smile and pose for us.

Outing with papa

The 2 men went out without me to Toa PaYoh kiddy's palace to look for a baby sling. Combi sling ended up the winner. We decided to get one more sling because we planned to use it in our Hongkong and Taiwan tour next month. We foresee alot of walking & carrying, thus we need a more durable sling, something that Aeon can also get to see from frontview.

After the trip, Aeon was tired & hungry & Roland had to feed him at the MRT station.

In the evening after his bath, I let Aeon try out a new dummy - bought it because it looked cute. Winne-ther-pooh series.

Late night window-shopping

We used to be thinking and believed that we only have time to do our stuff on weekends only.. so whenever we come out on weekends, we found that the weekends are really short, we do not have enough of it to do other things and have to wait till the next weekend.. It is only until the past few weeks we decided to break the norm to come out on weekdays... The feeling is great too... There is not much crowd on a weekday and we can still do our errands... It gives us a feeling that we have a longer weekend for the week. So yesterday, we went Orchard for window shopping, actually we wanted to check out umbrella trolley and baby carrier from Baby'R'Us, but there is not much variety or too overpriced. While we are strolling away, Aeon got really cranky and we decided to find a little corner to feed him. After his meal, we noticed some weird expression on his face. He was pouting his lips & squeezing his eyes. We never seen this type of expression/behaviour before, this is when I decided to video down. To our surprise, he was actually trying to squeeze those shit out of him. Roland got a bit of his shit while checking out his diaper.

Weekly update

I was down with a bad flu last week so didn't really have the time to blog. Went to WeiMin clinic and the nurse at the dispensary kept looking at Aeon (who was outside with Roland waiting for me) - she was explaining and observing & distracted by Aeon. For one moment she actually said "Apply the eye drops 2 drops 4 times a day ..so cute!" When I am leaving she commented "Xiao Tian Tian sui jiao le" (little sweetpie is asleep). She must have guessed Aeon is a little girl judging from the pink romper he wore (this was a pass-on romper, I did not buy pink for him).

Finally opened the one-month birthday gift and let Aeon play in the play mat. Cousin BinBin also tried to play but he was too big for it.
During the week, we celebrated Rachael's & DY's birthday. Their birthdays is only a day apart. We dined at the coffeestore nearby.

Aeon is finally big enough to wear the PopEye hooded top from Auntie Linda. I tried to snap him over my lap, in the end he looked like an eyebag monster trying to grab my phone! Aeon trying out the Nestle Banana teeth husk. Ended up in a big mess - sticky and crumpy.

@ Kenny Rogers yesterday

We tried putting Aeon on a high chair @ Kenny Rogers yesterday, thanks to Sharon's suggestion. All along I thought that Aeon is too small for high chair but to my surprise he is actually strong/fit enough for a high chair now. He was happy at first but it was a short moment, not long later he displayed his frustration. He doesn't really like being 'trapped' and definitely preferred to our carrying... So he fidgeted and fidgeted... cried ... scream.... as usual!

Weight= 8.29kg (increased by 1.3kg since 5th month)
Height=66cm (taller 2cm)
Head circumference=44cm (1.5cm bigger)

Paediatrian said Aeon is above average (yeah...finanlly back to above average, he was average last month). Does Aeon sound like a girl's name? He addressed Aeon as "She" just now when he asked "Does she know how to crawl already?"

Photo-taking session

Time passes really quickly and most of the times I really cannot recall what happened the whole of the week, it seems like Monday=Tuesday=Wednesday=Thursday and Friday feels the best because this is when I can spend the most time with my family. Every week feels the same like the next week, month etc., I like to take photographs as it captured the feeling, the moment at this time... Months later when you look back, you realised those bad fashion mistakes, bad hairstyle, the post-preggy still over-weight Fern... Just like when I looked back photos taken 2 years ago, I started to realise I am not that Fat afterall....

Today we took some photos in office (out of the blue) but it feels good... Just realised that it had been ages since we last taken a photo.

Happy 6th month birthday!

Today is Aeon's 6th month birthday! He is getting really heavy these days and I had developed a serious backache from too much carrying. So we decided to get a "car" for him aka a stroller. We went to Toa Pa Yoh Kiddy Palace last night to shop for our ideal stroller. In the end the Capella red stroller emerged as the winner (Easy to fold, not too heavy, 4 movable wheels). The Combi light weight stroller is a runner-up because it was too light which might topple. Actually there is a bright purple Combi stroller that caught our attention but the price was too steep, $600 plus with all the wonderful functions like 4 movable wheels, egg-shell, reversible, nice colour, 6 point belt buckle. The sales assistant who's serving us is a very warm, friendly and experienced lady. She kept playing with Aeon, teased & pacify him when Aeon got cranky. She even went to the extend of finding a toy to entertain Aeon, find a chair for me to feed Aeon, helped me to carry Aeon. Most importantly, she did not try to make us buy the most expensive strollers out to make more sales, in fact she shared with us her valuable experience.
