We have been clearing out lots of unwanted stuffs lately making room for Aeon thus we have thrown lots of rubbish outside our house. To my horror and which is the 2nd time in a roll, I withnessed 2 people whom ransacked our rubbish looking for 'trasures'!.
Yesterday morning - this old Chinese uncle cycled and stopped outside our house and looked through our rubbish and lucky for him, he found a faulty vacuum cleaner. I was right outside at the garden watering the plants and he looked back at me, continuing his hunt. Suddenly he asked me to lend him a pair of scissors to cut the cord off the vacuum cleaner. Then he asked for some newspapers (which I do not have) and asked if could borrow my scissors till the next day! I was stunned and turned him down and asked me to put back the rubbish neatly when he's done. He promised that he would as he was not that type of inconsiderate people. He told me that he was jobless therefore this was what he did for a 'living' now and hoped that I can pass my old papers to him next time.
This morning at 8am, I heard a motorbike stopped outside and peeped out. There was this Malay man (old curly hair, pink striped polo tees) on a Transnational Express courier bike, he stopped and ransacked my rubbish for close to my minutes. I thought I saw him tearing out the rubbish bags to see what was inside! He left empty-handed.
Inside my rubbish this time - expired canned food, potted plants, Aeon's soiled diapers, old plastic bags, old tap remains (we changed our tap and pipe yesterday ),
There is no privacy at all. Feel like a 'superstar' with paparazzi team finding out about our lifestyles through our rubbish.
Wonder if there is anyway to stop these people. Can I put a sign on the bin and said "Treasure hunt not allowed. " or "Nice to see and touch, once broken considered yours, please bring home to ransack"
I hated these people ransacking through and leaving the mess behind.
Anyway, I did not run out to stop him because I was in my PJ and messy hair.
